Phonics Reading Programme
The Phonics Reading Programme is a systematic approach to reading at a very young age. By mastering the 26 sounds of the alphabet, a child will be taught reading three phonetic words, phrases, sentences and short stories at the first level. You will be amazed by how they read at an early age.
A child will progress to the second level only if he/she has laid a very firm foundation at the initial stage. At the second level a child will be taught blending of consonants (sp, fr, gl, dr,lk, mp,ck, and so on). With phonics, reading and spelling go hand in hand unlike traditional approach where a child has to memorize each word when it comes to spelling.
Finally upon graduating from the second level, a child will confidently advance to another level. At level three, a child learns phonograms - a letter or group of letters which produce different sounds (sh, ch, aw, al, o-e, and so on).
Reading is a crucial skill needed for all students in all other academic skills. It is also a source of great personal pleasure.
Happy Reading
